The Best Smoothie
Basically the only recipe you'll need
I’ve had some requests for smoothie recipes, so here is the recipe for pretty much the only smoothie I make.
It tastes like a strawberry milkshake, yet it’s packed with protein, fibre, veggies and, of course, fruit. Made with strawberries (of course!), it’s boosted with cauliflower, which provides extra nutrition and creaminess. I promise you can’t taste it.
With 2-3 servings of fruits and veggies per smoothie, it’s an efficient way to chip away at the general recommendations to get 8-10 servings of fruits and veggies.
Plus, it tastes amazing, so if you’re like me, you’ll actually want to make this smoothie day after day.
What makes it even better is that this smoothie tastes best when made with frozen fruits and veggies, so it’s easy to have the ingredients on hand and won’t cost a fortune or require numerous trips to the grocery to acquire fresh ingredients throughout the week.
Have I convinced you yet? Here’s the recipe:
1.5 cups water or alt milk
1 cup strawberries
½ to 1 cup cauliflower
1 tbsp flax or chia seeds
1 tbsp peanut butter or peanut butter powder
1 serving vanilla protein powder
Add all ingredients to a blender (it helps to layer in the order I’ve provided) and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy right away.
If you try this smoothie, please let me know what you think of it.
